Working with PsA

Symptoms of PsA, such as pain, joint and muscle stiffness and swollen digits, can interfere with tasks associated with work, particularly those involving repetitive movement and prolonged activity. It is important to address any potential reduction in productivity by informing colleagues, supervisors and your occupational health department (if available), and seeking accommodations as needed. These may include upgrades to your work space (e.g. desks, chairs and equipment) and adjustments to your tasks and schedule to reduce strain. While some jobs are more “PsA-friendly” than others, seeking the support of your employer and, in certain circumstances, an occupational therapist can address and reduce the risk of work-related issues.
